Panes
If all has gone well, you should see the window for the game I call Panes on your monitor.
I know the interface looks bad. I'll be improving that in future releases.
Rules
Playing
Panes is pretty simple. It's a solitaire type game where you jump
colored squares over other colored squares based on several rules.
The game uses six colored squares (or Panes): Three primary colors:
,
and
and the three composites made from those:
,
and
.
Jumping
-
A Pane can jump over a Pane that is above, below, right, left and in the four diagonal directions from it.
-
A jumped Pane disappears from the board.
-
A Pane cannot jump an empty square.
-
A primary colored Pane (
,
or
) can jump over any other primary colored Pane.
-
A primary colored Pane can only jump over a composite color Pane if the composite Pane has the primary color in it.
For instance,
can jump over
or
but it can't jump over
-
A composite color can only jump over the same color as itself.
Landing
- A Pane can land on an empty square or a Pane that is the same color as it.
-
If a primary Pane lands on another primary Pane of a different color,
then the resulting Pane will have the color of the composite made by
the primary colors.
Goal
The goal of the game is to get down to as few Panes as possible (one Pane is the best) in the fewest number of jumps.
